Recently I attended the funeral of a 16-year-old young man who died in a motorcycle accident in Rochester. His mom and I often had volunteered together in youth theater and volleyball over the years. Our kids grew up together in the homeschool community. It wasn’t difficult to imagine myself in her shoes, suddenly losing a vibrant child on the cusp of adulthood with so much potential.
We sang this song, Endless Praise, at the 11:00 Calvary service the day before the funeral, and all I could think about was Jack at the foot of Jesus, and of our promise of heaven, of endless praise, of how this broken world is not our home or our final destination. As you listen, allow the lyrics to put all the suffering of this world in eternal perspective.
