Can you describe your current stage of life?
For the last several months and even today, a lot of chapters are ending and new ones are beginning in my life. In August, our oldest daughter moved out of the house into her own place and then within a few days, our son left to go to college. We have one remaining daughter at home who is in 8th grade, so we have essentially gone from a family of 5 to 3. Additionally, I’ve been in a career field for the past 20 years that I’m saying goodbye to and embarking upon something very new. Amidst all these changes, I’ve been dealing with some chronic dental issues that have been very difficult to deal with.
What are the good and the hard things about your current stage of life?
It’s been fun and exciting to watch our older kids start a new chapter of their lives. Although challenging in many ways, God is teaching me step by step to let go. I’ve really enjoyed spending more focused and dedicated time with our 13 year old daughter. With my new job, I’m looking forward to being challenged and learning new things. Although change is hard, I know this is all part of God’s plan in my life and I’m doing my best to lean into it.
I recently read the book Don’t Waste Your Life by John Piper and it (along with the Bible) has really helped me to understand that my life is meant to glorify God. That is why I was created- to be His ambassador and magnify His name. I can’t stop thinking about that because at the end of the day, I want my life to make a difference for Christ. It can be so easy to get caught up in the day to day and lose sight of why we are here. My heart’s prayer is that glorifying God would be my aim and ambition in this life and that mindset would govern all that I do.
In what stage of life do you feel God has taught you the most so far? Explain.
Just over 10 years ago, my husband and I almost lost our marriage. It was a dark time in many ways, but God had a different plan for us and through His grace and mercy, he made a way where there wasn’t one. While I continue to learn through the gift of marriage, it was during that time that I learned so much about who God is and His immense love for me and my husband David and our marriage, and I also learned so much about who God has called me to be. It was the biggest miracle in my life and I know God will use it for His glory.
What is a Bible verse, quote, or song lyric that has meant a lot to you? Explain.
A verse that has meant so much to me recently and the prayer of my heart is:
1 Corinthians 10:31 So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
My favorite song right now is “All in Your Hands” by Citizens. Here’s a snapshot of some of the lyrics:

What or who is helping you through this stage of life?
Jesus has been so faithful to me during this season, and I’ve found that letting go of my children has required me to depend on Him in ways that I haven’t in the past. I’m so grateful that each morning, He meets me where I am and gives me just what I need for each day.
Also, my husband David is my rock and such a wonderful support to me. He has been my shoulder to cry on, my comforter, and someone that I can laugh with through all the ups and downs. I’m so very grateful for him and the wonderful husband he is to me.If you had a week and an unlimited budget, where would you go or what would you do?

My husband was born in Ecuador and he came to the US when he was 8 years old. He has not been back since. I would love to go with him and our children back to his homeland and see where he grew up, meet his extended family, and experience the culture to the fullest!
