  • More than enough for sincerity
  • More than enough for sharing.
  • More than enough for strength.
  • More than enough for salvation and sanctification.

This study is for the fall semester. In the spring semester we will read through the new testament with the Bible Recap reading plan.

God of Covenant: Study of Genesis 12-50

by Jen Wilkin

Beginning with Genesis 12, walk alongside the fathers of our faith—Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph—to discern Jesus in the stories of His people.  Discover how God orchestrates everything for His glory and the good of His people, and see how the God of creation and covenant is the same yesterday, today, and forever.  We will discuss our study home work one week and the next week, watch and discuss Jen’s video.  This study will continue into Renovare’s winter semester.

The Gospel of John

by Melissa Spoelstra

Life. It seems to move at a break-neck pace. Days are filled with noise, screens, and appointments. Sometimes worry and fear are constant companions. The chaos can leave you looking for a place to be still, but that resting spot always seems to be an elusive destination. Jesus offers a different kind of life. He offers peace. He is peace.

The Book of Romans

by J.D. Greear

The book of Romans is considered by many to be one of the most important books ever written on the Christian faith. Writing to Christians, the apostle Paul defines the gospel, explores its depths, and discusses its significance and implications for the Christian life. This is a year-long RightNow Media study: The Book of Romans, Part 1 (first semester) and Part 2 (second semester) with JD Greer. The only text is our Bible and the downloadable study guide. Calvary has RightNow Media subscription. Simply email gpeterson@calvaryefree.church to request your free access.

A Woman's Heart: God's Dwelling Place

by Beth Moore

Explore the fascinating account of the building of the Old Testament tabernacle, the significance of its intricate design, its pivotal role in God’s eternal plan, the grand fulfillment of its purpose by Jesus Christ, and its variety of meanings for your walk with God today.

Philippians: Living for Christ

 by Lydia Brownback

The apostle Paul suffered intensely for his faith, but despite the danger and pain of his story, his letters are filled with hope―hope rooted in the good news of the gospel. Join Lydia Brownback as she explores Philippians and shows readers that even in the face of persecution and other difficulties, there is abundant peace through unity in Christ and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

Finding God Faithful: A Study on the Life of Joseph

 by Kelly Minter

Trace the path of Joseph’s life in the book of Genesis to observe how God’s sovereignty reigns, even in our darkest moments. Learn to recognize when God is working during periods of waiting, trust God’s plan when life doesn’t make sense, and rest in the sufficiency of His presence in every circumstance. His provision is enough, His presence is constant, and His purpose is unstoppable.

Daniel, Part 1 Living out a Biblical Worldview

by Precept Upon Precept Inductive Series

Threatened with death, Daniel stuck to his guns and refused to adopt a pagan lifestyle.  His worldview had God at the center and he lived it out even under extreme pressure to change. Learn to adopt a biblical worldview and adhere to it even when it’s not the norm. We will complete these 8 lessons over 16 weeks finishing Daniel after Christmas break. The first week of each lesson will be discussion and the second week the DVD.  You have 2 options for studying.  The regular study will involve about 2 1/2 hours of homework per week.  If you would prefer less homework, consider doing the IN and OUT study.  It involves around 1 hour of homework each week.

Prayer & Care

This group spends time visiting and praying for those who are unable to get out and about.  We join the Renovare opening time and then meet as a group before leaving to visit people.  We welcome you to join us in this vital and rewarding part of women’s ministries at Calvary.

Taming the Tongue: How the Gospel Transforms Our Talk

by Jeff Robinson

It’s been estimated that the average human being utters between 10,000 and 20,000 words per day. Consider that fact in light of Solomons words in Proverbs 10:19: When words are many, transgression is not lacking, but whoever restrains his lips is prudent, and you have 10,000 to 20,000 opportunities to sin. We are fallen people, and we utter fallen words. But we serve a communicating God. In Taming the Tongue: How the Gospel Transforms Our Talk, Jeff Robinson reminds us how in the gospel the Lord gives us a remedy for our troubled talk.

Monday Evening Renovare Study

September 8th – November 10th (will not meet October 13th) evening study 6:45 – 8:15pm at Dianne’s home, 4609 Windslow Lane NW

Amos: An Invitation to the Good Life

by Jennifer Rothschild

Amos is often called a prophet of doom. And when you begin to read his prophecy, it doesn’t take long to realize that nickname fits. On the surface, his prophecy doesn’t sound like a happy formula for the good life. However, every condemnation he gives serves as an invitation, a cry for us to “seek God and live” (Amos 5:4). You’ll be invited to live assured, faithful, chosen, humble, justly, prayerful, and hopeful. This kind of living will bring us and others around us peace and true prosperity.

Tuesday Evening Renovare Study

September 9, 16, 23, 30th evening study 6:30 – 8:00pm at Calvary

Hinds' Feet on High Places

by  Hannah Hurnard

Hinds’ Feet on High Places remains Hannah Hurnard’s best known and most beloved book: a timeless allegory dramatizing the yearning of God’s children to be led to new heights of love, joy, and victory. In this moving tale, follow Much-Afraid on her spiritual journey as she overcomes many dangers and mounts at last to the High Places. There she gains a new name and is transformed by her union with the loving Shepherd.  Discussion questions will be sent via email and we will discuss five chapters every week starting with week one.
