Hey guys,
Justine here. I am the leader of the Boma site, and my team also helps Buenos Aires with VBS in the afternoons. I am so excited to tell you about what’s been happening!
Today was our third day of VBS, in which we presented the Gospel to the kids. This is the most important message anyone can ever hear, so we were thrilled to share it with them! It’s especially awesome because we have had so many kids at each site! Boma had twenty kids on Tuesday and nineteen today. If you remember the last blog, Annie said it was pretty great that we had ten kids the first day. In fact, Rick didn’t even know this many kids lived in Boma! On Tuesday, we were only expecting half the amount of kids that showed up, so we thought we only brought enough craft supplies for about fifteen kids. However, when craft time came around, we had just enough for each child. Isn’t God so awesome?
He has also been blessing the work of the Buenos Aires and La Vid teams as they do the service projects in the mornings. The La Vid team is repainting and cleaning the church, while the Buenos Aires team is hauling lots of brush and cleaning the site as well (the cover photo of this blog entry is of Nuevo Amanecer, the church in Buenos Aires). Each team is working (and sweating) hard, and it is our desire to be a blessing to each community.
We were also blessed tonight at La Vid, where a prayer meeting was held. We prayed and sang in Spanish and English, and it was a wonderful testimony of how God is using the Dominicans who lead and attend La Vid to equip their congregation and surrounding communities. Speaking of prayer, please pray that the last day of VBS and service projects would go well tomorrow and that we would be the hands and feet of Christ in everything we do. Also pray the children would have a lasting and sincere desire to follow Jesus after VBS is over.
God has protected and provided for us and the Dominicans countless times already, and I know He will continue to work in and through our remaining time here!
