Hey guys!
Justine here. I am currently distancing myself from the all-nighter most of the team is pulling before we leave for the Santiago airport at 4:00 a.m. At the ripe old age of nineteen, my body is not suited for such shenanigans. I don’t know how everyone else has so much energy–my body said it was time for bed about ten hours ago. This trip has been pretty exhausting, but in the best ways possible!
Our team–including the translators and host missionaries–has worked so hard over the past couple weeks, and I am proud of all of them. They have stretched themselves physically and spiritually, and God has been at work through all of it. The title of this post is quite fitting; “alaba” is the Spanish command for “praise,” and we have so much to praise Him for!
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to praise God in a unique, amazing way by singing with Jeho, one of the pastors at La Vid, at their Sunday morning service and the special testimony service that same evening. He is on fire for the LORD, and it is apparent through the way he pours himself into each song (he’s also a crazy good singer and musician, by the way). I look forward to praising God with him again someday!
La Vid’s testimony service was filled with people, adoration for God, and beautiful stories of how He has moved not only in the last two weeks, but throughout the lives of the attendees as well.
While there is so much to praise God for, there also still much to pray for! Please pray God would continue to move in the hearts of the Dominicans we served after we leave. Pray they would have a lasting desire to attend and be involved in church. Pray for all the missionaries living in Jarabacoa who have more struggles than we often realize. They are doing wonderful things, and the support of their brothers and sisters in Christ from all around the world is crucial. I also ask you to pray for our team on the short and long-term scale: pray for safety and flight punctuality as we travel, and pray for the hearts of each team member to be increasingly attune to God’s voice and what this trip means for them.
Your continued support appreciated more than you could ever know!
