Summer Internship
This position contributes to the mission of Calvary E Free Church to glorify God by making disciples of Jesus who live out passion for Christ and compassion for people. The Youth Ministry Internship is designed to give interns firsthand ministry experience and grow in their personal ministry development. This position will work with Youth Ministry staff and volunteers to disciple middle school and high school students and organize and manage events.
Internships begin on June 24 and go through August 5.

REPORTS TO: Youth Ministry Staff
WORK WEEK: Typically 2 days a week
HOURS PER WEEK: 10 – 17
SUMMER HOURS: 100

This position will work with Youth Ministry staff and volunteers to disciple middle school and high school students and organize and manage events.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in Youth Ministry summer program.
  • Assists and leads in the planning and the implementation of student events.
  • Attends Youth Ministry leadership meetings.
  • Mentors and disciples students in small group settings. Set up hangouts before or after scheduled programs.
  • Works as a team player with staff.
  • Reads and participates in book study with intern team.
  • Contributes to the team through participation in team meetings, seeks servant-leadership opportunities, learns, and envisions God working through them to make an impact on others.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current 11th grade student or older.
  • Must provide own transportation to/from the Church and /or planned activities.
  • Complete a background check and child safety training.
  • Must adhere to CEFC policies for the safety of the congregation and students.
  • Have some knowledge of scripture and clearly articulate the gospel message.
  • Work through intern experience beginning June 24 through August 5.
  • Must be able to work internship schedule as follows:

Mondays

12:00 – 1:00 PM Youth Ministry meeting.
1:00 – 2:00 PM Ministry training
2:00 – 3:00 PM Team Building
3:00 – 4:00 PM Prepare for Wednesday night youth group.

Wednesdays

1:00 – 2:00 PM Book Review
2:00 – 3:00 PM Ministry training
3:00 – 5:00 PM Final Prep. and Set-up for youth group.
5:00 – 6:00 PM Dinner and discipleship with youth.
6:00 – 10:00 PM Youth Group

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Knowledge of personal/ project management principles, administration practices, organization techniques, and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of expense tracking/reporting and administration.
  • Knowledge of relational intelligence, grace and cross-cultural sensitivity.
  • Ability in developing leaders and team members for effective ministry.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively through both verbal and written means.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to build and promote a team culture through relational collaboration and motivating team members.
  • Ability to plan, organize projects and prepare detailed reports and presentations.
