Registration Note

Our women’s summer gatherings typically fill up, so register early! Since space is limited, we are asking that women register for only 1 or 2 backyard or home hosted events. If your plans change and you will not be attending, please cancel your registration by logging into church center so the next person on the waitlist can take your spot. If you need help with your registration, please contact Gail Peterson, gpeterson@calvaryefree.church.

Book Discussions

Your Story Has a Villain

Discover how Satan, the enemy of our souls, seeks to disrupt our lives through spiritual warfare. Though Jesus has already defeated him, Satan continues to roam the earth, targeting believers with schemes to isolate, discourage, and defeat them.

Habits of the Household

Discover simple habits and easy-to-implement daily rhythms that will help you find meaning beyond the chaos of family life as you create a home where kids and parents alike practice how to love God and each other.

Sex, Race and the Sovereignty of God

Can we trust God in adversity to be for us and not against us?  “The Lord has afflicted me,” says Naomi in the opening chapter of the narrative. The Book of Ruth is a literary masterpiece and a love story that addresses those who suffer loss and live on society’s margins; its main characters are women spanning generational differences. Using this book by John Piper, recently re-published as Sex, Race, and the Sovereignty of God, let’s gather to discuss and learn how God unfolds his saving power, and gracious purposes.

Making Sense of God

Tim Keller compares our secular culture and Christianity in “Making Sense of God,”shining a light on the profound value and importance of Christianity in our lives. He also explores the secular culture, hopefully helping us gain a better understanding of the secular mindset enabling us to have more engaging and attractive conversations about our Christian faith with our skeptic friends and family. Highlighting or taking notes from the book is recommended to facilitate discussion.
