Rooted Women’s Bible Studies: Morning & Evening

Dive into God's word together and find community in our Women's Bible studies!

Exciting Changes for Women’s Bible Study!
Thursday is now Women’s Bible Study Day at Calvary
Thursday Mornings 9:00 – 11:00am & Evenings 6:30 – 8:00pm

Vision

While the name is changing, our purpose remains the same—to grow deeper in God’s Word together, strengthen our faith, produce fruit for His Kingdom, and build meaningful community with one another.

Our new name for both groups is “Rooted”. Psalm 1 says that the person who delights in the law of the Lord and who meditates on it is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season. Ephesians 3 encourages us to be rooted and established in God’s love.

As our church continues to expand, we want to provide space for growth and more closely align our morning and evening study gatherings. Our hope is that these changes will provide greater consistency in your experience with Bible Studies at Calvary.

Rooted begins Thursday, September 10th.

NEW for the Thursday evening group :

  • Family Meals are served on Thursday evenings 5:30 – 6:15pm at church. This is a great option if you come straight from work or have a busy day. ($4 per person)
  • Women who bring children to AWANA from 6:30 – 8:00pm can participate in a Bible study at the same time.
  • There is an option to linger longer after study as we will use the “Green Room” with comfortable lounge seating as one of our gathering places.

We’re looking forward to this new season of studying God’s Word and growing together. We hope you can join us!

September 10th Kick-Off

The book of Joshua chronicles God’s continuing faithfulness to fulfill His covenant promises to Abraham. It is a book of transitions, in which Joshua rises to leadership and the people of God step across the Jordan into the long-awaited land of promise. The task of possessing the land will test the limits of their strength and their courage, but God’s covenant will not fail them. And Joshua’s faithful example will whisper toward the perfect faithfulness of Christ Himself.

EphesiansEphesians

by Lydia Brownback

Ephesians reveals how believers, through union with Christ, have been given everything they need for a joy-filled life of faith. In this New Testament epistle, the apostle Paul reveals how Christians grow as a spiritual family in thought, word, and deed as together they live out their great spiritual privileges in their lives and relationships.

Breathe Bible StudyBreathe

by Priscilla Shirer

One of the greatest challenges among women in our culture is taking time to cease from all the activities and just breathe. We are in bondage to busyness. We constantly strive to complete the limitless to-do lists that hinder us from experiencing all that God has for us. By neglecting time for tranquility, serenity, and repose, we limit our Christlikeness and miss out on some of God's greatest gifts. In this Bible study by Priscilla Shirer, we'll learn that Sabbath was given to the Israelites as a gift, and it is still a gift to us today. If you are weary, worn out, and exhausted, then the concept of Sabbath will change your life.

Teach Us to WantTeach Us To Want

by Jen Pollock Michel

We all want things: certain relationships, just the right job, affirmation from others, a life full of passion and purpose. Contemporary culture says to go after desire, pursue your “I want” list ruthlessly. Christianity seems to send a different message: Wanting is sinful and selfish. Faith is about obedience and sacrifice.

How do we reconcile the longings in our hearts with the God we're called to follow?

The first week of each lesson will be discussion and the second week the DVD.  You have 2 options for studying.  The regular study will involve about 2 1/2 hours of homework per week.  If you would prefer less homework, consider doing the IN and OUT study.  It involves around 1 hour of homework each week.

Daniel Bible StudyDaniel Part Two

by Precept Upon Precept Inductive Series

Does the turmoil in our times, the uprisings and the spiritual decay of many have anything to do with the Book of Daniel? Daniel was a man who knew what God said about the end times. He focused on what God said, not the events of his own time. Therefore, he had an impact on the people that God placed in his life.

How do you live as a Daniel in the crucial days in which you find yourself? How can you dare to be different? How do you get to know God Most High? The Book of Daniel has the answers.

by Kristel Acevedo

Each week, Kristel leads readers through reflections on a biblical figure who faced their own wilderness―from the solitude of John the Baptist to the trials of the Israelites. Through these familiar stories, she draws parallels to life now, helping you see that amidst the struggles is often where God meets you most profoundly.

Names of GodThe Names of God

by Various Authors

From the opening chapters of Genesis through the final verses of Revelation, God is known by many names―names that reveal who He is, what He does, and how He relates to His children. He is El-Roi, “the God who sees me.” He is Jesus, “the Lord is salvation.” He is the Spirit, your Comforter and Counselor. And you? You have a name, too. You are His beloved child, a Christian, one who bears His name.
