The membership of Calvary affirms that all of the elders meet the requirements for elders found in the Scriptures (1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9) to serve as shepherds of the church under our Shepherding Model. This model gives the shepherds the responsibility of knowing, leading, feeding and protecting the body of Christ at Calvary. While all elders have the same requirements, they serve here in three main roles, pastors, elder board members and shepherd elders. Our pastors serve in the ministry areas for which they were hired as well as shepherding. The elder board members focus on shepherding and in addition, along with the lead pastor, handle the business and spiritual vision for the church. Shepherd elders are those who focus only on shepherding at this time. All three of these work together as one, to take care of all who call Calvary home, as we are commanded by God.

1 Peter 5:1-3 So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed: shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock.
