I’m James Lowe, and I have the honour of serving as Associate Youth Pastor.

Though I still sound unmistakably British, our family has called Minnesota home for nearly three years now. Before joining Calvary, we spent time with Rochester L’Abri Fellowship, a community rooted in the vision of Francis Schaeffer, where hospitality, theological study, and honest conversation meet around the dinner table. That experience deeply shaped how I see ministry; as truth embedded in loving community.

I met my wife, Imogen, when we were still in school. A mutual friend introduced us with the immortal words: “You should meet and get married, you are both Christians.” Together we’re raising four lively children – Virginia Rose (11), Malachi (9), Koa (7), and Aurelia (5). They fill our home with music, fossils, unicorns, and more conversation than any two adults could reasonably manage. We love hiking, camping, rainy afternoons, and a good film (when everyone can finally agree on what to watch).

I have a degree in International Media and Communications from the University of Nottingham and am studying for a Masters in Practical Theology. Before L’Abri I worked as an EMT for eight years.

If you’re a parent, a student, or someone exploring faith, my hope is simple: that through this church family, you’ll encounter the living God who meets us where we are and leads us to a life of joyful and meaningful service to Him and others. I want to help our young people see that our small chapters are part of God’s greater story of redemption.
