God speaks to us through the heavens and through His word. However, we cannot be in His presence or perfectly apply His law on our own. This is why we need the forgiveness Jesus Christ offers and the transforming work of the Holy Spirit.

As we examine Psalm 51, we see David in what might be the lowest point in his life - the moment after Nathan confronts him with his abhorrent actions toward Bathsheba and Uriah. David shows us how we should feel about our sin, and how God's mercy is everything.

There is an appropriate time to call for the immediate exercise of God’s justice on those who do very heinous evil. But more importantly, Psalm 109 paints a vivid picture of our need for God’s mercy that comes only in Christ, who took the curse for us.

The gospel is the answer to the questions and doubts of our longing and suffering minds and hearts.

If you have God’s saving grace you can walk in integrity and go boldly into the presence of God in worship.

With reflective music for each Selah, this opportunity to experience Psalm 89 allows us to consider the nature of God and his faithfulness to us…pain or shine.

Psalm 121 gives us a look into the heart of why we can rely on God. We see both His ability to be near and relatable to us, while still being big enough to handle all that we might face.

David pens in Psalms 101 the rules he RESOLVES to follow in his journey as a man of God, a family man, and Israel's king. We know from 1 Samuel 16 - 1 Kings 2 that David's results weren't always great -- that stout intentional RESOLUTIONS were not sufficient for David, nor for us in our personal lives, our homes, and our vocations God has placed us in.

Psalm 13 is a solid promise, to those who feel that God is very far away and does not care or concern himself with our pain, that his love is steadfast and his salvation never leaves.
