We are so excited to connect the generations through the Pray For Me Campaign! The Pray for Me Campaign (PFMC) connects adult Prayer Partners with a child or student, or a family with multiple children, through prayer. Prayer Partners will use a provided-for-you prayer guide that helps to pray specifically for seven things in the life of each prayer recipient: widom, favor, speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity. (Sound familiar? These are character traits based on Luke 2:52 and 1 Tim 4:12.)
Our primary request is that Prayer Partners do their best to do these 3 things:
- Pray continually for their child/student/family using the prayer guide for 26 weeks, starting the week of January 26 and ending in July.;
- Attend (if possible) the Prayer Partner Matching event on Jan 26 and the end of the year celebration in July to share stories of God’s power through this program; and
- Send one note of encouragement about halfway through the process to your prayer recipient (you will be reminded by email). Are Prayer Partners encouraged to grow in relationship with the families with whom they have been partnered? Of course!
Please register to be a Prayer Partner or a Prayer Recipient!
Pray for Me FAQs
For this program, no. Prayer Partners will be randomly assigned – you may or may not know the person or family for whom you are praying. We hope this strengthens existing relationships, and starts new ones. Of course, you can always pray for someone you want to pray for! And you’ll find that adding some names as you use the Prayer Guide would not be difficult.
No you don’t. It is appreciated, but not required.
Yes! Especially if you don’t write in your book. 🙂 So if you choose to participate again, you will not have to pay for another prayer guide.
No. You determine the level of engagement you have as a prayer partner. The prayer guide allows you to pray for each child specifically without always seeking out more information from them. Our primary request is that Prayer Partners do their best to do these 3 things: 1) Pray continually for their child/student/family using the prayer guide; 2) Attend (if possible) the Prayer Partner Matching event on Jan 26 and the end of the year celebration in July; and 3) Send one note of encouragement about halfway through the process to your prayer recipient (you will be reminded by email). Prayer recipients will meet their Prayer Partners, and the family/child/student will take a photo with their prayer partners. Prayer Partners can ask about specific prayer requests the family or student have as well. Additionally, there will be a chance to ask questions about how the program works.
Students grade 6 and above may be contacted directly by their Prayer Partners, but parents can always make their communication preferences known. With children grade 5 and below, Prayer Partners will contact through the parents via email or phone.
Prayer Partners will pray for 26 weeks, starting the week of January 26 and ending in July. However, others who have participated in this program report maintain regular prayer for students for whom they were praying years later! That, of course, is always welcomed!
Sort of. We’d greatly prefer that this program is for our church family – not to be unnecessarily exclusive, but because we’d like to build organic relationships among our families through prayer. However, we are happy to help facilitate your prayer for the next generation with a prayer guide if you’d like! Just contact us, or search Amazon for “Pray For Me Campaign” and you’ll find the resources you’re looking for.
