Hello Calvary Family!
I asked Justine to share how she has personally been impacted by her experience in the DR these past two weeks:
Hi guys. I am currently avoiding an over-tired, over-sugared group of teenagers by writing this entry, and I think that’s definitely a way I’ve seen God work in my life tonight. Anyhoo, if you recall from a previous blog post, Naomi wrote about asking God for rain. Well, it has rained pretty much every day since then, including this evening. In fact, Josiah preached an awesome sermon about Jesus walking on water during a storm while it was drizzling and thundering, so that’s kinda cool.
We also finished building the pavilion for Buenos Aires today (where Josiah got to preach) in a shorter amount of time than I initially expected, which is a blessing because now we will have adequate time to paint it and clear out additional brush.
Yesterday, we had the opportunity to hike to a waterfall to spend some quiet time with God and His creation. As an introvert, it was great to have a little silence. Don’t worry though, God has been teaching me how to have patience when I’m around people all the time. I’m a work in progress. I digress. The landscape was beautiful, but the trek was a little slippery, so I am now certified in GGI (Gravity and Ground Inspection).
Rick and Becky have been so gracious and kind to us; they not only invite us to spend two weeks helping them with mission work, but also bless us by taking us to such wonderful places that we don’t have to go to (but we’re so grateful they do!). I have seen God work through them in so many ways, and they are doing amazing, meaningful things for Him here. We are privileged to join them, even if it’s just a couple weeks. Please continue to pray for our entire team as we embark on the last few days of this trip. Thanks for reading! 🙂

I love it! So great to hear how God is working in you and the rest of the team. Praying for the last few days of your trip!
I love your humor and way with words, Justine. 😁 Thank you for sharing! Can’t wait to see you all and hear more details soon!
Praying for all of you as you approach the end of your trip. As you process all that has happened in the past two weeks, “forget what you left behind (what you used to be) and strain toward what is ahead (the ‘perfection’ you have started working toward as God continues call you towards Himself).” Phil 3:12-14
God has used this time for the good of those in the DR and also in each of you. Come home and bring Him glory!!
Thanks for sharing, Justine! I love that photo!! Praying for you and the team!
