Reflecting on Day One in the DR

DRTeam

Greetings from the DR,

Reflecting here at the end of the first day in the DR…

First of all we all arrived and so did all of our luggage. Yeah, things are always easier that way.  It was a long day traveling and most of us arrived in camp in the dark so the beauty of the country was hidden until the morning.

This morining started with group worship and Rick and Becky giving us a cultural introduction and a brief intro to effective ministry here.

This afternoon we all participated in prayer walks in the areas around the churches where we will be ministering.

This evening now we are having Team Time.  Singing, sharing and time together.  These times are often very meaningful as we share the highs and lows of the day.   Good times today, renewing old friendships, seeing possibilities of God’s work in these communities, and just resting in the Lord and waiting to see what He will do.

Praise: Safe trip: all the luggage arrived, excellent leadership.
Prayer request: Health for everyone (a couple are feeling iffy), good worship at the three churches that we will be in for Sunday, team unity, God’s working in each team members heart.

Thanks for sending us,
Roger.

  1. Thank you for the blog entries, Connor and Roger. I can’t wait to hear about Sunday’s activities. Thank you, Lord, for getting the team and their luggage to the DR together! Please work in each Dominican and American heart so that you are lifted high. Through Christ, Amen.
