Hello Calvary Family!
As many of you know, we have a group of high schoolers heading off to the Dominican Republic on Monday! Calvary has a long-time relationship serving in the D.R. and we have been sending teams down for a number of years. The last few years we have not been able to do a mission trip to the D.R. due to Covid, so we are excited to finally be going over there!
We will be partnering with missionaries Rick & Becky Mackey as they work with church planting in the city of Jarabacoa and the surrounding communities. We are thrilled to embark on an urban ministry experience in the D.R., where we will engage with children, youth, and adults.
Our focus will extend beyond mere interactions, as we actively participate in community service, physical labor, and various other forms of serving the local communities. Our ultimate goal is to be the hands and feet of Christ for
them and reflect the Gospel through our actions.
During our time there, we will have the opportunity to share our personal testimonies which will push us to step outside of our comfort zones and stretch ourselves in new ways as we embrace unfamiliar aspects of ministry. Our hearts are filled with anticipation as we prepare to serve as instruments of Jesus Christ’s love. By immersing ourselves in the lives of those we encounter, we hope to make a lasting impact. Please pray that our trip will go smoothly and safely!
