We are grieved by the senseless killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis on May 25th and the violence that has followed in our state and nation. These events remind us of the sinful depravity of every human heart and our desperate need for the saving work of Jesus Christ. Calvary stands for the inherent value and dignity of every human being because we are all made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). Calvary stands for the truth that the Gospel unites all races and ethnicities in Jesus Christ (Galatians 3:28; Ephesians 2:11-16). We call everyone in the Calvary family to join us in prayer for peace, for justice, for reconciliation, for repentance from racism, and for wisdom in how to love and serve those who have been hurt and are suffering. We look to collaborate with the Evangelical Free Church of America and other ministry partners in their crisis response efforts and will let you know how you can help as that information becomes available.
